Barely do they touch upon the relationship with Ophelia and Thorn, and the few that we do pull at your heartstrings endlessly. I stayed up two nights straight to finish this book. I can only pity people who don't read--as these books absolutely swept me away. When I finished The Storm of Echos I found myself wanting more. I'm sure I'll love it though just as I did the others (this is actually the 1st time I've preordered a book on Amazon). That said, my book spine seems to curiously be printed upside down 🤔 Not that it matters as I will keep the dust jacket on but it is a bit strange. I haven’t obsessively read a series like this since Harry Potter, and honestly, these books are better written in my opinion (not dissing the story line, I still love Harry Potter dearly). • 1.0 out of 5 stars from Tatiana Vetturini -- Too side-stories watered down the plot and my interest : I don't know what happened between the first 2 books and this, but I can't believe it is the same author who wrote them. So many spin-offs, and no one story is developed right. When Thorn bring her niece back prioritizing that over Ophelia imminent death and is cured cured by the 15 seconds he and hes niece are together I wanted to put the book down and forget I ever started it. Ridiculous, shallow and very bad writing, a shame since I rated book one a whopping 5 stars. I'm so disappointed. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 12, 2021 )

I understand how many would struggle with a non-fairytale ending (oh, how we all wish for the world to be good!) and how hard it is to both reach the end knowing there will be no more AND deal with the devastation of losing Thorn...Yet, the ending is a perfectly crafted and perfectly logical conclusion to the existential journey undertaken by the series through which the main characters and you are transformed...
